Little Apple

They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree
just rolls downhill and into the stream
carried by the current into the sea
washing up on some distant beach
The trail I blaze must be my own
even if it means that I walk alone
staring into the vast unknown
crying my tears until I've grown
I know it's hard to let it end
but for me this is where it begins
watching the trail go around the bend
wondering if it'll come around again
so as I leave don't cry for me
the little apple floating in the sea
taking pains just to be free
doing what I know is right for me
