Honestly, looking at what this country does, as much as I (sort of) hate to say it, I'm almsot always ashamed to live in this country. As a matter of fact, I intend to move to some other country some day if the general demeanor of the people here get better. But, even though I have the right to protest I'm just going to shut my mouth.

There are times when I'm sad to say that I'm ashamed to live in this country. Unfortunately, this is one of them, and you've just listed ten of those reasons why.

We got Saddam now. I wonder how the Iraqi people will live ... it doesn't matter if we're trying to help them. Saddam had reigned some 30+ years, and kids grew up in fear and in his image. Now that the dictator is out, how are they going to cope?

My most simple wish is to pull all our troops out and let that country duke its issues out the way we did when our nation was born. The problem is though, it's never that simple.

Oil is the reason for the war. Unless you want to add greed. I was offered a job by Halliburton to work in Iraq only three days after the invasion started. Halliburton was already prepared before the invasion.

The dictator is President Bush. All countries should be in fear of his actions.

Also if you are proud of your father or what you have done you would brag. So I ask you why would President Bush seal his records and his fathers? Only a theif, a liar or a murderer would hide his records. If there are war crimes to try for what Saddam did then those that "drove the car" are just as guilty. The sealed records will reveal the complicity of Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bush's father in supplying Saddam with all of his chemical and biological weapons. After all we hated Iran at the time. It upsets me to say our country has been the instigator of many of the worlds problems. Sometimes I think the war was a ploy to protect the weathly CEO's from scrutiny as they contributed massive amounts of money to President Bush's war chest in return for special privledges. aka, Halliburton and CBS.

As long as the President and all of his men are allowed to complete their agendas with out the regards to freedom and the lives of the people in the world, then everyone should fear the President's every action.

I never liked the idea of going to war (just where ARE those WMD's, Dubbaya?) in the first place, and certainly not without the UN behind us, but it fascinates me in a gruesome kinda way that Bush can so quickly forget. Has no one told him that Afghanistan, which he so gleefully 'dealt with' after 9/11, is still a total mess; that Osama Bin Laden is still walking round alive and well; that by setting up his puppet leaders in this desperate countries he is becoming the sort of dictator he allegedly despises? I agree with you, Raven; Saddan Hussein was a vicious, evil being, but if he was that much of a plague on the face of humanity, why did we encourage the Iraqui people to rise up ten years ago at the end of the last Gulf War against him, and then fail to provide the armed support we had promised? Oh, I remember now...Saddam served a purpose for us then, just like Bin Laden and his men helped the West kick the Russians out of Afghanistan. Does this mean that if Tony Blair stops being Bush's lapdog I should start preparing for an invasion..?

As a person that loves to be informed about world events that affect-well, the world, I absolutely have to praise you on this one. While I am grateful for being able to live in a country where I have the right to protest against war, I feel ashamed because other cultures run in fear whenever they see my flag. Not exactly the best reputation to have, especially when we claim that our wars are meant to implement democracy in nations that we ourselves have set up with the dictators, like we did with Saddam in the Persian Gulf. And as a side note to George Dubbaya: Before you go and blame the bin Ladens aka the Saudi Arabian royal family, make sure noone finds out you and the rest of your family have had lucrative business deals with them for the past 25 years.
