or dream about me when there's nothing left to dream
I don't expect you to miss me
and I know the phone will never ring
with your voice hanging on the other line
but I have to know
if I'm in your thoughts
or if you forgot about me
like you promised you never would
I can't bear the thought
of what we shared
being nothing than a footnote
in a forgotten chapter of your life
and even though I only think of you
during the loneliest hours of the night
Part of me is still hoping
that you're thinking of me
when I'm busy not thinking of you
So shed not a tear for what we lost
nor heave a sigh for what could have been

Very expressive good, my first visit to site having been recommended by a friend. It tells it all nostalgia abounds in autumn mists memmories drift on golden sun. Now is great love is great but other loves linger in your memories, you wonder do they in his too?

I am not going to lie to you …. I wanted to cry , It still happens ; Where I wonder if one I have loved and trusted so deeply , if he still thinks of me or am I just " That girl" who didn't satisfy ?

i read this poem and i loved it i broke up with someone that i truly fell in love with and now i have no idea what happened to him he moved away and i dont know where and this poem touches a very deep part of my heart
anyone who's had a first love knows the memories will never leave, and that sometimes in the dead of night they will surface. for me, i know there's someone that will haunt my thoughts for the rest of my life.. and i wonder where he is now..

Your poem reminded me of an ex-boyfriend that I have in Tenneesse. He still likes me and I still like him but things are becoming different between us, because of all the times that we went out. He broke up with me in the worst way ever. I forgave him and we went out again and then he cheated on me with one of my friends. Him still liking me isn't helping with the pain that he put me through.
